Using Dots Phone
Usage, costs & responsibilities.
Dots Phone is an independent, self-hosted plugin for OpenAI Dots. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by or sponsored by OpenAI or Twilio. Product names identify the services it can use; they do not imply a partnership.
Your accounts and costs
You run Dots Phone with accounts you control and are responsible for charges incurred on those accounts. These can include OpenAI model usage, Twilio phone numbers, calls and streams, and hosting or tunnel services. Charges may accrue even when a call does not complete its task.
Call-budget checks use estimates. They are not a guaranteed cap on your provider bill. Set appropriate limits with your providers and review their pricing and actual usage before enabling calls.
Results and review
AI can mishear, misunderstand or return incomplete or incorrect information. Call completion and task outcomes are not guaranteed. Review important results and confirm consequential details before acting on them. Do not use Dots Phone for emergencies or urgent safety-critical decisions.
Calling and information permissions
Make only calls you are authorized to make. Limit disclosures and connected-source access to information you are allowed to use for the task. Use only an approved identity and purpose; do not misrepresent who is calling. Answer identity questions honestly and include any disclosures required for the specific call. Obtain any consent required for calling, recording or processing call audio. Follow applicable laws and provider terms. Requirements depend on the call’s purpose and jurisdiction; enabling recording does not establish permission to record.
